If you've shopped around for wholesale apparel and can't seem to find exactly what you're looking for you may want design your own line. While there's a huge amount of already stocked styles available for wholesale purchase you may want to skip that generic tee look that everyone is selling and offer something unique that truly fits your brand identity. So what are the steps you need to take to get started? Read on to find out.


Consider what you're willling to invest and whether or not you're really ready to take the custom apparel plunge. Did you just open a Shopify store, have no inventory and just a dream of making really cool clothes? Custom apparel is probably not for you. Your brand should be established and you should have a good idea of what sells and what you're customers are really looking for. If you've been in business long enough to know that what you're designing is very likely to sell to your existing customers then the next question you need to ask yourself is how much you're really willing to invest in custom apparel. This is when you may realize that the super complicated style you've been doodling on napkins is actually going to cost more than you realized. Hoping to make 5 different styles in 3 different colors and only commit to 200 units total. Again, you're going to realize you're not ready for custom apparel. So what should expect if you think you want to move forward? Prepare to commit to 600 units per style in one color. Know that the more panels, pieces, design aspects there are the higher the cost will be to produce. 

So you're ready to commit to the minimum quantities, know exactly what you're customers want to buy from you and have a well enough established brand to actually sell the goods once they're produced. What's next? Bringing your design to life. If you have sketches or images of your style that's a great place to start. If you own a piece of clothing it see something for sale that you like as a base but want to tweak, that's even better. We will make a sample for you to approve prior to starting full production on your order. Youl be able to see, feel and try on the garment(s) and let us know any changes that need to be made. We allow one revision based on the sample sent and then any additional revisions will be charged at full sample price. After production you're garments will be inspected by our quality assurance team, packed and tagged (if requested) and sent to your warehouse.
